Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Massage Therapy?
Massage is a therapeutic technique that involves the manual manipulation of muscles and soft tissues to promote relaxation, reduce tension, and improve overall health. It has been practiced for thousands of years across various cultures. Massage not only addresses physical discomfort and stress, but also helps prevent future issues by improving circulation, enhancing immune function, and supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
-
Undress to your comfort level. You’ll always be securely draped, and your therapist will only uncover the area being worked on.
-
Standard sessions are 60 or 90 minutes, but we also offer shorter or extended sessions depending on your needs.
-
Some types of massage—like deep tissue—use firm pressure, but it should never be painful. Let your therapist know what feels right.
-
Not unless you want to! You’re welcome to chat, ask questions, or simply enjoy the silence.
-
That’s perfectly okay—and very common! Many clients find massage so relaxing that they drift off.
-
It varies. Some people benefit from weekly sessions, while others come in monthly. Your therapist can help you find the best routine.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a technique in which specific points on the body are stimulated by inserting thin needles through the skin. It is one of the oldest medical practices in the world spanning at least 2,000 years. It treats the symptoms of the illness as well as prevents the problem from happening again in the future by strengthening the body’s immune system and organ function.
-
Most people feel little to no pain. The needles are extremely thin—often compared to a hair—and the sensation is usually minimal or even unnoticeable.
-
Acupuncture helps with pain relief, reduces stress, improves sleep, supports digestion, and boosts overall wellness.
-
No—treatments are customized. Your acupuncturist will tailor each session to your unique health goals and any symptoms you’re experiencing.
-
Initial visits typically last 60 minutes and include a consultation. Follow-up treatments are 45–60 minutes.
-
Absolutely. Acupuncture works well alongside massage, physical therapy, chiropractic care, and even conventional medicine.
-
Many clients feel deeply relaxed and even fall asleep during their session. It’s a calming, restorative experience.
